The search scribe extension operates entirely on your local computer. Its sole purpose is to add a “Copy Suggestions” button to Google search pages, which allows you to copy the auto-complete suggestions to your clipboard.
2. Permissions
To provide its features, the extension requires the following permissions:
- storage: Used only to save your settings for the extension, such as display preferences. It does not store any personal data.
- clipboardWrite: Required to perform the core function of the extension, which is to copy the search suggestions to your clipboard when you click the button.
- activeTab, scripting, and Host Permissions (google.com): These permissions are necessary to access the Google search page content, find the suggestions, and insert the “Copy Suggestions” button. The extension only runs on Google pages and only when activated by your interaction.
3. No Third-Party Sharing
We do not share any data with any third parties because no data is ever collected or transmitted from your computer.
